Since Mother's Day is this month, I would like to take a moment to honor the incredible mothers I'm fortunate to observe. Mothers, whose selfless love and sacrifice, is at an almost supernatural level. The regard for self is secondary, so that the needs of their sons and daughters can be met. A passage of scripture that describes perfectly a mother's love is found in I Corinthians 13:4-7: “Love is patient; love is kind. Love is not jealous; is not proud; is not conceited; does not act foolishly; is not selfish; is not easily provoked to anger; keeps no record of wrongs; takes no pleasure in unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth; love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.” I am fortunate to have a mother that gives her everything to her children. I am grateful to the Lord for blessing me with being able to be the recipient of this type of pure love. I have also had the opportunity to witness the same love from my wife for my children. It amazes me the energy and devotion that shows itself through that of being my daughters’ mother. But they are not the only terrific mothers I have the opportunity to watch. ARC has a variety of moms that range from younger to older. The quality of ladies and their devotion to their call is why we are a spiritual and loving church. I give honor to each of them and I'm thankful for the love that is shown, even beyond their own children. If I were to compare God's love to any love, it would be to that of a Mother's love.
I want to remind everyone that there will be three single 11:00 a.m. services for the month of May. Mother's Day service on the 8th, Pentecost service on the 15th, and a single service on the 29th for Memorial Day weekend. I want to especially challenge you to bring family and friends that need the Holy Ghost on Pentecost Sunday. Rev. Nathan Reever will be preaching that Sunday. It's going to be a great service!
As always, thank you for your continual loving sacrifice that makes ARC the church it is today!
